April 24, 2012: Lest we Forget

Fr Rosenskjar had been chaplain at Milne bay during World War 2. Thank you to MP choir and our instrumentalist as well as Year 6 for making it such a meaningful night. March 22, 2012: Change to Ekka Show Holiday this year
With the change in the holidays for this year there has to be some adjustments to some of our activities. Another impact has been the loss of the Ministerial Holiday for the EKKA on the Thursday. Wednesday 15th August remains the public EKKA holiday however there will be no school holiday on the Thursday this year. Thursday 16th August will be a school day. You may wish to make note of this in your family calendars now..

March 13, 2012: School Swimming Carnival
Last Friday was an outstanding swimming carnival for Years 4 -7. The day went very smoothly thanks to the great organisation of Mrs Robinson and Mr Tracey. As well, at one stage I counted 16 parents helping out. Thank you. Parents would have been proud of their children, particularly the House Captains who were thoroughly organised, enthusiastic, helpful and supportive of their team.

March 6, 2012: Jubilee Gathering Day Success
Congratulations to the Jubilee Committee on such a wonderful community event on Sunday. It was a great gathering of the community, past and present, to begin the Jubilee celebrations. There were animated conversations as people made connections and reconnected with people, events of the past and the stories of the intervening years. One of the highlights was singer and song writer, Dermot Dorgan, performing his original song telling the story of St Agnes school community. Thank you to all who contributed to such an uplifting community event. I am sure all who were present will be looking forward to our next gathering, the Milne Bay Soiree.

February 28, 2012: Project Compassion

Last Friday, the children took home a mite box which can be returned after the Easter vacation. Thank you.

  • forwarding any emails from the P&F
  • arranging opportunities for social ‘gettogethers’, (particularly in the lower years of the school)
If you would like to volunteer for this role in your child’s class, please fill in your details on the form attached and return it to the office by Wednesday 8th February or send Tanya Lucas an email at tlucas@bne.catholic.edu.au. (Want to nominate, but need more information? Let me know via email and I will get back to you!).
