Health and Physical Education Lessons

Every class at St Agnes participates in one hour of Health and Physical Activity each week. During these lessons, the students engage in movement and physical activity linked directly to the Australian Curriculum.

School Carnivals

Our school sport carnivals are the highlight of the year to many of our students. Please see the dates for this year's carnival below:

  • Swimming (Years 3-6) – Term 1
  • Cross-Country (P-6) – Term 2
  • Athletics (P-6) – Term 3

Inter-school Competitions

Students are given the opportunity to represent St Agnes in one day carnivals. Most recently our students have been involved in netball, rugby 7s and touch football.

Zone II Carnivals

Catholic Zone II is a large sporting organisation made up of 24 catholic schools in south Brisbane. Students are given the opportunity to represent St Agnes at the Catholic Zone II Carnival each year. St Agnes are currently in Division 2 and have had some pleasing success in the Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming Carnivals at this level.

Tennis Lessons

Students at St Agnes participate in lessons provided by external coaches, on St Agnes school grounds. Tennis lessons, run by Tennisforkids (Hot Shots), take place on Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings.

Sporting Clinics

During the year many sporting groups will run sporting clinics for our students during class time. Some of these groups will also run clinics at St Agnes after school.

Some programs that have visited St Agnes are:

  • AFL OzKick (Australian Rules Football)
  • Rookies2Reds (Rugby Union)
  • Sunnybank Rugby (Rugby Union)

District Sports

St Agnes, along with 30 other schools, is part of the Mt Gravatt District for sport representation. There are many opportunities throughout the year for our students to trial for representative selection as part of this district. Parents have the responsibility of nominating their children for these sports.
